Abstract:

This tutorial conveys the fundamental and advanced ideas about modern CMOS design techniques for mm-wave wireless communications. Starting from the architecture-level illustration which describes the requirement for high-speed sub-circuits, this talk covers popular design skills and typical considerations of voltage-controlled oscillators, frequency dividers, amplifiers, and other mm-wave blocks. Design methodology will be included to investigate the circuit optimization, and case study on state-of-the-arts will be given as well.
